Meet Dr. Anirudh Nair

Board Elgibile with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Anirudh Nair, DMD

Born in India and raised in Dubai, his family moved to Lansdale, Pennsylvania when he was 15 where he completed high school. Growing up across three countries gave him a deep appreciation for people with different values, cultures and lifestyles which instilled in him the ability to connect naturally with his patients.

Dr. Nair’s path to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has been shaped by many factors including a diverse upbringing, extensive surgical education and training, and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Dr. Nair earned his BS in Biochemistry from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2012, followed by an MS in Microbiology and Immunology from Thomas Jefferson University in 2016. While an undergraduate and graduate student, he worked as a dental assistant with expanded functions, gaining invaluable clinical experience and developing a strong foundation in patient care.

He then moved to Southern California with his wife to attend Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Pomona, earning his DMD in 2020. During his fourth year, he discovered his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was drawn to the specialty’s unique integration of medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and surgery.

In 2020, Dr. Nair relocated to New York to pursue advanced surgical training. He completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in 2021, then continued his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Lincoln Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in the South Bronx—first as a non‑categorical intern and later as a categorical resident. His residency, included comprehensive training in anesthesia, trauma surgery, general surgery, and internal medicine. Under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Pellecchia, he developed advanced skills in orthognathic surgery, conservative and surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, dentoalveolar surgery, and facial trauma. He completed residency in 2026 and was honored to serve as Chief Resident.

Following residency, Dr. Nair and his wife chose to return to Southern California, a place they had grown to love during dental school. He is currently in private practice at Huntington Beach and Long Beach Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where Dr. David R Telles and his surgeons and staff are dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care with skill, honesty, and compassion.

Outside of work, Dr. Nair enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, hiking, playing tennis, and traveling. He especially enjoys exploring new countries, experiencing different cultures, and visiting national parks.
